TERMS OF REFERENCE

  • Project Background and Objectives:

YMCA and MIAK work collaboratively to tackle the issue of unemployment and lack of income generating opportunities for vulnerable women and youth. Within this project, the YMCA and MIAK explore distributing Cash grants to youth and increasing their capacity to promote community-based tourism as mechanisms to develop income-generating opportunities for Rabud’s youth and the community in general. The project builds on a 4 weeks vocational camp organized by YMCA, which responded to the demands of the labor market as well as their needs in identifying their skills and inclinations.

An important new mechanism that will be tested within this project is the establishment of a Youth Grant Scheme to which young men and women can apply for funds to help them implement their own micro-businesses including community-based tourism initiatives/micro-projects. Priority will be given to the vocational camp graduates and women aiming for creating income-generating opportunities. Coaching and support sessions will be organized by YMCA and MIAK staff to strengthen the development of the proposals/plans and support the youth where necessary.

Project Main Objective: Increased economic autonomy of vulnerable youth and women.
